Debuting at the 2015 New York auto show, the 2016 Range Rover ‘SV Autobiography’ boasts not only unique exterior design enhancements, but also an exclusive interior and a 493hp V8 supercharged engine, making it their most luxurious and powerful series-production model to date. Crafted at Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations’ (SVO) technical center in the UK, the SUV reaches even greater heights in terms of sophisticated style and level of elegance.

Land Rover’s design director and chief creative officer Gerry McGovern stated: ‘with the SV Autobiography we have taken the opportunity to optimise the Range Rover’s luxury execution and precision while delivering beautiful detailing that considerably enhances the customer’s experience of our flagship vehicle.’
Featuring new ‘Range Rover’ bonnet lettering and ‘SV Autobiography badging on its tailgate, the model has a special front grille that is finished in distinctive graphite atlas and polished chrome. Continuing to create individualism, its exterior, for the first time, is available in a duo-tone body color option, enabling the combination of a Santorini Black upper body with nine palette choices for the lower part.
John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations, said: ‘Range Rover originally defined the luxury SUV segment and the new SV Autobiography, takes Range Rover to another level of comfort, craftsmanship and refinement.’

For the interior, the image of distinction continues with the foot pedals and driver’s switchgear, including the start-up surround and rotary controls, machined from solid aluminum to form knurled details. Along with the rear seats, the back section has a chiller compartment, powered deployable tables and metal coat hooks. Proceeding further back, the car offers the option of a sliding loadspace floor which is crafted from aluminum with a choice of veneer, and can extend to optimize loading and unloading. Alternatively, the Range Rover’s versatile split tailgate features ‘event seating’, a quick and easily-deployable chair arrangement for two adults.

The new flagship for the ‘Autobiography’ range, the 2016 ‘SV’ has a five liter V8 supercharged engine, made from aluminum, that not only produces 493 hp, but also 680 nm of torque. This, combined with a smooth and sophisticated ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, blends performance, in-gear flexibility and refinement. The production series is available with a choice of other powertrains, including; TDV6, the CO2-lowering SDV6 hybrid, SDv8 and SCV6 supercharged derivative.
