The Brief

Before starting any project we need to clearly understand your expectations, budget and timescale. At this initial meeting we can also suggest options and alternatives and highlight any potential issues and responsibilities. We will advise you regarding other specialist consultants that may be required. From this discussion we will compose a detailed brief that will form the basis of the project.

Architecture + Interior Design

The Concept

Once we have agreed the brief the first phase of the design process starts with a measured survey to produce accurate drawings. We will then start to develop a concept and use images, materials samples and presentation boards to help you to visualize the outline design.

Architecture + Interior Design

The Design

As the design phase continues we will present layout drawings, furnishing options and a schedule of finishes. Bathroom and kitchen design will be advanced and any structural, mechanical or electrical draft layouts prepared. Planning applications, party wall applications, listed building consents and any other administrative requirements will begin in this phase.

Architecture + Interior Design

The Detail

Once the concept design has been agreed and signed off we will provide detailed design drawings for kitchens and bathrooms, scheme level lighting, heating and electrical layouts, details of any custom joinery, specifications for all finishes, fixtures and fittings and any other details required to make the design a reality. At this point more elaborate visual presentation can be arranged to include physical models, 3D perspectives and video walkthroughs.

Architecture + Interior Design

The Build

We can introduce lead and specialist contractors for your particular project and will monitor the work in progress. We will co-ordinate the works schedule with the lead contractor to minimise construction time and control the budget.

Architecture + Interior Design

The Finishes

We will introduce experienced craftsmen to ensure the quality of any specialist decorative finishes such as polished plaster, leather or suede wall panels, burnished metal panels or custom glass installations. We will design and arrange for the installation of high quality joinery for any part of the house from libraries and built in studies to home cinemas and imaginative kid’s bedrooms.

Architecture + Interior Design

The Furnishing

We will design and arrange for the manufacture or fabrication of bespoke furniture and fittings in any style, in any materials and to exactly the right size to perfectly suit the design scheme. We will negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best pricing possible for all furniture, fittings and equipment (FF&E). We can also supply accessories to add the finishing touches.

The Fabrics

From re-covering a favourite piece of furniture to the sourcing and installation of upholstered furniture, curtains and blinds, carpets and rugs we can find the perfect fabrics from the huge choice available from some of the world’s top fabric houses. We can accompany you to trade design centres such as Chelsea Harbour in London or the D&D Building in New York or alternatively show you a more edited selection in your own home or office.

Specialist Furniture and Cabinetry Design

For hotels, spas, offices, nightclubs and larger residential projects we work closely with one of the world’s largest FF&E suppliers. We work with Carpe Diem from the early planning stages, through to them mocking up a hotel suite for the client to approve and on to the delivery and installation of a high quality product, quickly and efficiently.

Art

Using our close connections with galleries, curators and artists we have always enjoyed helping our clients find individual artworks or create complete art collections for their homes and offices, sourced art for display in show flats, developments and for photo shoots and company launches.

Art

As this part of our business continued to grow in importance we felt that by combining our business background, interior design skills and knowledge of the art scene we could take the process to a higher level and at the same time develop a new idea in interior design.

Art

The first step was to integrate our design and art activities and so we began building an art collection that would integrate seamlessly into any Kinari Design interior scheme. E T H O S, our specialist fine art division, curates a constantly changing collection of original pieces that we know will appeal to our clients. While mostly contemporary works, the collection is varied in style to cater for the different locations, design styles and project types that we are asked to undertake.

Art

The service launched in the US, initially just for K I N A R I projects and design clients, but numerous requests from other sources have convinced us to both open in London and to expand the service to allow architects, developers and designers as well as our hospitality, finance and retail clients to benefit.

Art

Our first design micro-studio and gallery in Europe, nestled in the luxurious surroundings of the Astir Palace Hotel in Vouliagmeni has just opened and will offer a mix of design, art, global and local services, luxury products and collaborations specifically tailored to the Greek Riviera and to the lifestyle of our global client base. We have been invited to explore this idea in other locations on the ‘global tour’ of our clients.

Art

We will be holding exhibitions in the public spaces of the Astir Palace and at the chic Blender Gallery in Glyfada, the ‘Beverly Hills of Greece”, and we are now discussing exhibitions in Dubai and collaborations with Chinese galleries, curators and artists.

Art

We were delighted to use the recent launch of E T H O S in London to host a private art event to benefit the Duchess of Cambridge’s Place2Be children’s mental health charity. More events will take place with Place2Be in interesting locations over the next year or so.
